Facial Thread Veins

Thread veins are small superficial broken veins and capillaries found in both men and women mainly on the face. Thread veins may appear red, purple or blue in colour and occur when a fine vein dilates and becomes large enough to be visible through the transparency of the skin. Although the exact cause remains unknown, they are often aggravated by exposure to strong sunlight, wind and the extremes of temperature. They are a very common unwanted problem affecting up to 50% of the population.

Facial Thread Vein Removal

Facial thread veins are best treated by laser or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). These machines deliver carefully controlled doses of light energy to the veins which is absorbed by the blood and converted to heat. The heat then seals off the veins so that they can no longer carry blood and over a short period of time the veins disappear.

Facial thread veins will normally respond to 2 or 4 treatments.
